Skittles mani ft. Glitter Gal, Flormar and Seventeen

Hi everyone! This is my first post, I have a skittles mani to show you. I think I'll be doing skittles a lot as I like to try a number of nail polishes at the same time to see how they perform and what they look like on the nail. I'm just too impatient sometimes and I'm so eager to check them all out that I can't be bothered doing full manicures with each of them over a month's span.

I won't be showing you my thumbnail as it didn't come out too well. Anyway, here are the 4 polishes I'm reviewing today:

- Glitter Gal "Mystic Lake" (all photos show 2 coats over Essence "Black is Back", no topcoat): this one is supposed to be layered over a dark colour and it has a gorgeous blue to purple/fuchsia to pink to copper shift, with the blue to purple/fuchsia one being the most prominent. I got this one after seeing Pointless Cafe's superb swatches. It's a stunner indeed;
- Glitter Gal "Beetle Wings" (3 coats, but I could have got away with just 2 if I had been more precise in application. Topped with Mavadry topcoat): turquoise/teal/purple shifter. Again, Pointless Cafe has great swatches of it, she layered it over a dark colour, I'll show you what it looks like on its own. Another beauty, love this one a lot;
- Flormar Super Shine Miracle U08 (3 coats but 2 would have been all right too, no topcoat): fantastic and super shiny navy to purple shimmery duochrome, so pretty!
- Seventeen Super Shine 539 (4 coats, I could have done just 3 but I noticed a tiny bald spot and preferred to cover it up. No Topcoat. This goes on a bit sheer at first, as is the case with many polishes of this kind that I tried, so no surprise there. More importantly, I don't mind doing 3-4 coats if the polish is a stunner, and this one definitely is, I love it!): divine multichrome, it goes from bronze to coral to mauvey pink to green to gold, most of the time you get at least 2 hues at the same time.

All polishes were purchased by me and I love them all, couldn't be happier about them. I hope my pictures will do them justice. Let's start:

In the shade, outdoors, no flash:

In the following 3 photos you can sort of see the purple shift in GG Beetle Wings, which is definitely there when you turn your nail to a certain angle. The teal/turquoise is a bit more prominent in this polish than the purple (which IS there eh, mind you, it's just that the teal is stronger), but I don't mind at all because it's such a pretty shade, it goes from a bright turquoise in the sun to a more mysterious teal in the shade, with a twist of purple thrown into the mix as you move your hand, gorgeous!

I love this picture even if it's a bit blurry because it shows how shiny these polishes are in real life.

In the sun, outdoors/indoors:

I love the green in the Seventeen (and the way it rhymes, too).
Wait, is the Seventeen bronze too (besides being coral, golden, green and mauvey pink)?!

Glitter Gal Beetle Wings
I love how bright Beetle Wings looks in the sun

Flormar U08
I included this picture to show how much depth Flormar U08 has, I don't think my pictures do it justice. As the name of its line suggests (Super Shine Miracle) this one is super shiny and the navy to purple shift is very noticeable under pretty much all kinds of lighting. In the sun it reflects blue/green as well, as you can see here.

Indoors, artificial light, no flash

Here you can see the purple in Beetle Wings

The above 3 pictures show the duochrome in Beetle Wings, exactly how it loooks indoors in the shade. Sorry for the blurriness but I couldn't hold my camera firmly enough.

This picture is very dark (computer screen lighting), not to mention blurry,  but I posted it regardless because it kind of shows the purple in Beetle Wings again, which is more noticeable in low light than strong light conditions when it's not layered over dark colours. Damn the purple is there indeed and I wanna show it but my camera skills are sub-par and I couldn't get a decent picture of it to save my life, but it's there I promise!

The 2 above pictures are blurry, yes, but they've got a saving grace in that they are still colour-accurate and they manage to capture the colour shifts in all 4 polishes. Same lighting for both photos, just a different angle.

Ok I'm finally done, sorry for the picture-heavy post, don't hate me, too many hues to capture. Also, please excuse my poor photographing skills. I hope my pictures did these polishes justice, even just remotely . In case the photographer pictures didn't do the job, well, just know that these nail lacquers are superb and if you get them you won't regret it.

Thanks for visiting!
